...Notes...
General: For anyone who cares, yeah, when I paint grass I paint each individual blade. Yes, it's boring. But not as boring as going to the bank.
Appearance: For the same reason as Yoshiki, developing the look of Yume's character was a bit tough. In this picture what I was really trying to capture was the peace about her, so evidently lacking in her family. What I was really going for was her peace and intelligence, two things that set her apart so much from everyone else. While Yoshiki got his mom's very yellow-blonde hair, Yume's was tempered by the blue that runs in her father's side... but the blue of her eyes ended up mingled with her mother's green, unlike Yoshiki's (his eyes are the image of Takaeyama's, in case you were wondering). It took me a long time to get a decent image of Yume in my mind... for a while all I saw was glasses. She can't see a damn thing without them.
Where is she?: In her parent's backyard.
Are those cherry blossoms?: Yeah... For some reason or other I felt that Yume's character melded well with the symbolism they represent in culture here. I know what that reason is... you guys will learn later.
What's she reading?: I don't know. She wouldn't tell me.
