"The Light and the Mirror" is the third in the series entitled "The Diasminion Chronicles". It's an experimental novel, written and published in two parts. As it takes place 700 years after the fall of the Empire, it's not necessary to have read either "Encircle the Sun" or "The Dark Oath" in order to follow (and hopefully enjoy) this novel. "The Mirror", the first half of the story, is currently in publication and updates on Sundays.
This is the story of the contrasting lives of a group of people living in Diasminion centuries after the collapse of rule and order. What challenges meet them, what experiences shape them, even how they dress or speak, depends entirely upon the truth of the deepest nature of man. If left to our own devices, what kind of society would we create? How much of our inner selves rises from what we see, hear, and feel from those around us? "The Light and The Mirror" attempts to explore these questions through the adventures of an unlikely group of companions as they travel the continent- some in search of legend, others with a more worldly task in mind...
