General: I did the background twice... and I'm still not sure I'm happy with it. >.<

Tattered much?: I had a lot of fun working on the rips in Seiken's clothes. I've been painting a lot of rips lately, between side projects and work for Encircle. It has, however, made me consider that it might be a good idea to update my own wardrobe.

Wow, birds.: Those are ravens. I started the "character page" project with the supposedly awesome-great idea that I'd place the characters in settings that were meaningful to them for some reason or other. I launched into this plan with complete disregard to the fact that I was also going to have to deal with a character that is homeless and doesn't actually *have* a place that I could portray him in. Seiken's that type of guy... easily overlooked. I did 10 sketches of Seiken, none of which worked, before the answer came to me. Instead of trying in vain to fit the poor boy someplace that he simply doesn't belong, why not focus on the Clan aspect? Done and done. Ravens are the animals closest to Seiken's heart. You may be wondering where they are in the TDO storyline. Don't worry, they show up.

Aside: After doing more than a few sketches of Seiken, I realized that he looks quite a bit like someone I used to know a long, long time ago. He makes different faces and lacks the self-confidence of the guy in question, but the resemblance is still there. Odd.
