(September 5, 2010) Greetings and salutations! This week's chapter of The Light deals solely with Ren and Fatemeh, chronicling Fatemeh's inability to understand what's happened to her newfound friend and Ren's journey on the Plane of Elysium. Readers who are new to the series might find it helpful to read about Diasminian religion and the Nine Planes on this page. Just scroll down to the section entitled "Religion" and read from there. It's not necessary to do this, however. Everything that you'll need to know for "The Light" to make sense will be explained as we go along. Those of you who read "The Dark Oath" will probably be able to figure out who the soul on the cliffs in Elysium is easily, along with whose soul Ren shares. If you've forgotten or never read TDO, never mind. It's not terribly important, except for the parts which are... and those you'll learn more about in time. Hee hee. Now I sound like a certain someone. ^.^ Have a good week, everybody!
(September 1, 2010) Hola! Harata's tormentor speaks, only to say something that makes no sense... something that will be a recurring theme during this chapter of our tale. This page is an updated version of what used to be the very first page of the graphic novel. I orginally chose this as the starting place because this is where the novel starts. However, as time went by, I rethought my decision, mostly because I felt the graphic novel had no "hook"- in other words, there wasn't much going on that would interest someone enough that they'd want to bother waiting another week to find out what happened. For that reason, I decided to create the Prologue. There's not much difference between this page and the original, except for the second panel (and the change in style). As I've been going through the overhaul of the first chapter, some pages I've decided to copy while others have been altered or changed entirely. This page is one of the only ones to survive, probably due to my remembrance of the triumph I felt when I painted it the first time. And that's all I've got to say. See ya Sunday!
(August 29, 2010) Hi again. The Light continues with our party's attepmt to reach the Blue Fire. Things go very poorly for Ren, who begins to feel worse as they get nearer to their destination. Rianka becomes even more mysterious, and when Iori tries to offer her a hand, he learns that it's not such a good idea to ignore her wishes. Enjoy!
(August 25, 2010) Hey guys. This week's page of Encircle deals with the murder of our panda-headed pal, Harata. As such, it's rather violent, with some grossness present in the last panel. *If you don't wanna look at guts, don't look.* Why is our narrator slaughtering this poor guy? You'll have to wait to find out. The next few pages can be on the gory side, but I'll let you know when it's over. That's all for today! See ya next week!
